She works on discovery responses in urgent, deadline-driven cases and assists with drafting discovery requests. Joanna also communicates with clients regarding case updates, relays client questions to the legal team, and supports intake by helping gather important information from potential clients.

Education
Joanna is currently a junior at Pepperdine University, where she majors in Psychology and minors in Hispanic Studies. She is expected to graduate in 2027.
Her academic background strengthens her understanding of human behavior, communication, and cross-cultural perspectives. As part of her studies, Joanna also studied Spanish abroad in Spain.
Commitment to Workers’ Rights
As a first-generation Mexican-American student, Joanna is drawn to plaintiff-side employment law because the work is personal to her. She enjoys helping represent workers and supporting communities that may not always have equal access to legal resources.
Joanna is especially interested in employment and immigration law, with a focus on serving Latino communities. She is motivated by the opportunity to advocate for people experiencing many of the same working conditions her parents once faced.
Community Involvement
Through Pepperdine, Joanna spent three months in Buenos Aires, where she participated in and organized volunteer events for communities in need.
She also supports local Catholic churches and nonprofit organizations by donating pan dulce and pastries for community members in need.
