Professional Background
Angel Pluas is a graduate of the California university system, having attended UCLA School of Law and Cal Poly, Pomona. While at UCLA, he served as Co-Chair of La Raza Law Students Association and as a Managing Editor of the Chicano Latino Law Review. During law school, he pursued civil rights and social justice work in underserved communities through internships with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Office of Independent Review.
After law school, Angel worked for several years as an Associate Attorney at an employment defense firm where he litigated numerous employment and civil rights cases. In 2013, he co-founded Workers’ Rights Legal Group with long-time friend and colleague Joshua Milon.
At Workers’ Rights Legal Group, Angel has represented hundreds of clients, most of whom are persons of color from marginalized communities, in employment disputes including sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination, defamation, sexual assault, age discrimination, and whistleblower claims.
Angel has served as trial counsel in dozens of trials and arbitrations and is the firm’s lead appellate counsel. He is the author of the published opinion Najarro v. Superior Court (2021) 70 Cal.App.5th 871.
