Professional Background
Itzel Burgos was born and raised in Southern California. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and later received her Master’s degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Before attending law school, Itzel worked in roles centered on community support and public service. Her experience includes serving as a JusticeCorps Member in Compton, volunteering with New Voice Immigration Services, working as an Administrative Assistant at UCLA, managing employment cases at West Coast Trial Lawyers, and assisting the public as a Social Security Administration Representative.
Legal Education and Experience
Itzel earned her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School through the SCALE two-year accelerated program, concentrating in Labor and Employment Law. During law school, she held numerous leadership and academic positions, including SCALE Ambassador, Dean’s Fellow, Research Assistant, Public Relations Chair for the Labor and Employment Law Association, and Community Relations Chair for the Latino student organization.
