Itzel Burgos

Professional Background

Itzel Burgos is an Associate Attorney at Workers’ Rights Legal Group, where she represents California employees in workplace disputes. Born and raised in Southern California, Itzel grew up in Lynwood and graduated as valedictorian of Firebaugh High School before attending the University of California, Los Angeles.

Itzel earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UCLA and later received a master’s degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Her educational and professional path has consistently focused on advocacy, conflict resolution, and access to justice.

Before becoming an attorney, Itzel gained experience serving communities throughout Los Angeles County. She worked as a JusticeCorps member at the Compton Courthouse, worked at an employee-side employment law firm, and served in government and public-interest roles focused on helping individuals navigate complex legal and administrative systems.

During law school, Itzel continued building her employment-law experience through placements with the U.S. Social Security Administration, Office of General Counsel, where she worked on disability-law matters involving the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Legal Unit, where she worked on matters involving the rights of Los Angeles workers.
